Sidwell lost a heart-breaker in a four-hour, 11-inning affair. The three pitchers for the Quakers, starter Owen Liu-Bailey and relievers Cody Encarnacion and Daniel Piho, did what should have been enough for the win. They struck out 11 while only issuing two walks. They also worked out of several jams to hold St. Albans scoreless in multiple innings when the Bulldogs moved runners into scoring position with fewer than two outs.

Unfortunately, the Quakers also had trouble plating runners in scoring position, most notably in the sixth inning when Sidwell loaded the bases with no outs, only two hit two ground balls directly at the third baseman, who threw home each time, and a liner at the shortstop.

The success that the Quakers did have with runners in scoring position was largely due to Tommy Levy, who did a good job with two strikes, one out, and a runner on third. In this situation he hit RBI ground balls to the right side in both the third inning (to tie the game) and also in the fifth (to put the Quakers up 2-1.) Tanner Breslin had a two-RBI hit up the middle in the top of the 11th, plating what appeared to be the game-winning runs a while later when St. Albans was down to their final out, with a runner on first and down by two. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs managed to score three in a big two out rally to burst the Sidwell balloon.

No doubt about it: the narrow losses to Potomac on Thursday and to St. Albans today stung.
