Sidwell lost another heart-breaker to a strong opponent by a single run. In a back-and-forth affair, Sidwell was the first to really break things open when first baseman Porter Speece launched a moonshot grand slam to center field in the fourth to put the Quakers up by four. Unfortunately, Potomac equalized in the very next frame and then scratched an unanswered run across in the seventh. The Potomac starter from the first game of the series, Paul Witkop, came in for three innings of relief and literally earned the win for the Panthers.
