The Quakers notched their first win of the season behind a great starting pitching performance by William Friedman, who went six innings, striking out eight while walking three. Reliever George Bankoff combined with Friedman for a shutout.
Offense highlights include two doubles by designated hitter Porter Speece and a four-hit game by Eric Sun. Sun also recorded five stolen bases, including one of home.
Of note -- after the slow start against Gonzaga -- team defense was excellent and error-free on the day.
