Sidwell played solid defense and was able to score enough runs to top a strong Flint Hill team, giving the Quakers their first victory against the Huskies since 2006. Although Sidwell surrendered a few walks and were hurt by a few miscues on the bases in the opening innings, the Quakers were able to respond with timely hitting to match every Flint Hill rally. Sidwell scored in every inning largely because production came from every part of the order; 8 of 9 starters recorded at least one hit. Pitcher Peter Bell came up huge for the Quakers when he relieved Chase Plebani in the top of the 4th with the bases loaded, no one out, and one run already in. Bell calmly proceeded to strike out the first three batters he faced, leaving the bases loaded and avoiding a potential disastrous inning for the Quakers. Sidwell committed two early errors, but the defense soon settled in and was highlighted by two great plays from shortstop David Steinbach, one on a line drive and the other on a ground ball up the middle. All in all, the Quakers put forth a complete team effort to defeat the solid Huskies and get a signature league win.
