Sidwell came up short in an effort to comeback against Maret. Maret put up a quick four runs in the first inning of the game and tacked on two more in the second -- but didn't score again after the Sidwell pitching and defense settled in.

Sidwell had a prolific day at the plate, recording 11 hits, including four triples by Matt Romansky, Luke Friedman (2), and Chase Migas. Unfortunately, Sidwell did a poor job converting baserunners into runs and stranded nine runners in scoring position. Additionally, one Sidwell runner who scored was called out on appeal for having missed home plate while jogging home from third on a Friedman triple. Additionally, a two RBI, would-be double hit by Friedman was called back as just foul in the sixth inning. But, despite the fact that a break here or there might have tipped the balance in Sidwell's favor, the truth is that the Quakers needed to do better with runners on third and with two outs.

On the defensive side, Sidwell's infield looked sharp, making most of the routine plays and turning a spectacular 1-6-3 double play to end Maret's third inning.

With good power at the plate, solid infielding, and capable pitching, the Quakers should be able to generate good results once they work out the kinks and address situational offense.
