The Skinny: Sidwell played a solid game against GDS in its final regular season game, cruising to a solid victory, 11-4.

Synopsis: Sidwell put runners on the bases consistently all game, and eventually, some of those runners translated into runs. For instance, in the top of the 1st (Sidwell was the away team despite playing on its home field), Finn Stern was thrown out at the plate on a close call, stunting Sidwell's rally, allowing GDS to hold the Quakers without a run in the 1st. But after the 1st, Sidwell put up consistent offense, scoring in every subsequent inning except the 6th for a total of 11 runs.

Sidwell's pitching staff was effective against the hoppers, surrendering only 5 hits over 7 innings. Sophomore Chase Plebani started strongly for the Quakers pitching 3 innings of 1-hit ball, allowing only an unearned run with 5 Ks. Senior Mark Ossolinski pitched effectively the next 3 innings, allowing only a single run, and Junior Matt Mclaughlin finished off the game, pitching the 7th. The defense played solidly, committing only a single error.

Analysis: Sidwell hit the ball solidly all game. They collected 11 hits and 8 walks, enough offense to easily beat most teams. To augment the Quaker attack, GDS handed Sidwell a number of free runners, committing 6 errors. Given these numbers, 25 baserunners, Sidwell's 11 runs actually seems like a low total. That being said, Sidwell did bat in each of its 11 runs. Overall it was a solid effort from the Quakers

Looking Ahead: This wraps up the regular season for Sidwell, as carries momentum into the MAC tournament, riding a 3-game winning streak. Sidwell will be the 3 seed and will play St. Andrew's at home this Saturday in the opening round of the tournament.
