Sidwell looked to bounce back from a disappointing Friday afternoon performance for the first of two games against the familiar faces of Maret on another picture-perfect day. The Quakers, playing as the home team in the first game, spotted the visiting Frogs an early unearned run, but settled down in the bottom half when Robby Schooling, doing what Robby Schooling does, knocked in leadoff hitter Mikey Levy with an opposite field single. Schooling later recorded his first career intentional walk, when Maret declined to face the red-hot Schooling in the Quaker 5th.

Maret would bring their bats and good eyes to selectively hit and work starter Matt Harden deep in counts, taking a 4-3 lead into the 4th inning before Sidwell would jump on the Frogs and break things open for good, sending 10 batters to the box and plating five runs to turn the deficit into a 4-run lead and get Harden in the win column. He certainly earned it: on his way out the door in the fourth inning, he recorded an Immaculate Inning, striking out the top of Maret's order on nine straight pitches. Jackson Fauvre would take over the pitch the 5th and 6th and finish the game an inning early under time limit, securing the series for the Quakers.
