The Quakers came back from an early 2-0 deficit to beat visiting St. Albans. In the the second inning, with runners on a second and third and two outs, catcher Mikey Levy fouled off a two strike pitch and then hit a two-RBI linedrive single to center to put the Quakers up 3-2. Sidwell added an insurance run in each of the fourth and fifth innings and secured a 5-4 win.

Pitchers Matt Harden (win) and Jackson Fauvre (save) combined again for a great pitching effort. Another highlight of the game was William Friedman's 300ft ground-rule double to get things going in the Quaker 2nd. Speaking of ground-rule doubles, there was a bit of contention in the final innning....

Last year -- in the only game played before the shutdown -- the Quakers gave up a lead to St. Albans in their final at-bat. This time, things seemed to be wrapping up nicely as Fauvre recorded two quick outs in the top of the 7th with a three-run lead. However, the next four Bulldog batters reached base on a walk, a single, a single, and a nearly identical ground-rule double to the one that Friedman hit in the second. Their coaches first argued to the umpire that the ball cleared the fence on the fly, which it did not, and then argued that the runner should score from first. The umpire ruled that it was in fact a ground-rule double, and thus the situation was runners on second and third with two outs and a Quaker lead of 5-4. Fauvre induced a shallow fly ball to center field, which Jake Kang easily caught for the final out, in what turned out to be a dramatic win for Sidwell to cap off a great weekend of play.
