In an amazing pitchers' duel, Sidwell ended up with an exciting walk-off win. The pitchers' duel was among three pitchers. For the Quakers, starter Mikey Levy and reliever Andrew Ludwin combined for seven innings, allowing only four hits and a walk while striking out seven. For the Penguins, Stephen Showalter allowed only two hits and no walks while striking out eight.
The game flew by and after a mere hour and a half, Sidwell came up in the bottom of the seventh in a 1-1 ball game. Will Koopersmith started the inning off with a perfectly executed drag bunt for a hit. Colin Leonard ran for him and stole two bases on the next two pitches. Finally, on a full count, Briley Ward ripped a ground ball at the third baseman who couldn't gather the ball and get it home before Leonard, who ran on groundball contact, scored. The Quakers walked off with a 2-1 win and confidence heading into tomorrow's matchup with St. Albans.
