Sidwell started the day bright and early by frantically trying to find a new place to play, as the home field was left swamped after an overnight sprinkler malfunction. Fortunately, the Potomac Panthers were able to accommodate as hosts in time for the previously scheduled first pitch without issue. The now-visiting Quakers graciously spotted the Panthers two early runs on unforced errors but would settle down from that to post a clean game the rest of the way.

Down 2-0 early, Sidwell would go on to add baserunners, but just like the day before, were met with a bend-but-not-break Potomac defense, which helped to leave 6 more stranded for the game (18 in two games). The visiting Quakers kept knocking on the door, including in the last-chance 7th inning, down 3-2 with the tying run 90 feet away at the third base. After a good battle, Matt Harden, who started the game at pitcher giving up but one hit through 5 frames, launched a ball to deep center field straight into the opponent’s glove, ending the game just a bit short.

All was not lost on the effort, as the Quakers were able to bounce back from an uncertain start to keep a good game going. Everyone in attendance couldn’t help but notice "the juice" from the dugout the entire game, especially toward the end, when reliever Jackson Fauvre struck out the side in the 6th with newly introduced catcher Robby Schooling proving to be a hard-working backstop. The Quakers look to bounce back next Friday against School Without Walls.
