Though Sidwell was only able to come up with a single run on a Friday afternoon home game against Maret, that run proved enough for an exciting win. Starter Ben Steel again went the distance and did a terrific job, especially with runners on base. He was aided by some terrific inning-ending plays with runners on base: in the third with runners on the corners, center fielder Sam Mogilnicki dove to his left on a slicing line drive to end the inning; in the fourth with runners on first and second, third baseman David Hacker made a catch in foul territory on a ball hit over his head; in the fifth Chris Ward made a great diving catch in left field on a lefty-hit ball slicing away from him; and, finally, to end the game with a runner on third, second baseman Oliver Heggli-Nonay made a great play to his right on a sharply hit ground ball.
The Quakers lone run came in the first inning when Ben Schwartz came up with a bases loaded base hit to score Mogilnicki.
The game was a great win for the Quakers and Steel's second complete-game shutout of the year.
