Sidwell traveled to Hagerstown on a beautiful Saturday morning to play St. James. The game was terrific -- for 11 of 12 half innings. On offense, the Quakers did a nice job putting balls in play and avoiding pop-ups. Ben Steel had another great start on the mound, and the defense was excellent, particularly after a mistake and with two outs. The one (and major) blemish was the bottom of the fifth, in which St. James scored nine runs off of several walks and a number of great hits. Unlike in all other innings, in the fifth that third out proved elusive; St. James scored five of their nine runs with two outs. But, as they say, a win is a win, and Sidwell is back at the .500 mark. (The game ended an inning early due to a two-hour time limit.)
