For the second game in a row, Sidwell lost on a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 7th with two outs. This time Sidwell held a lead for much of the game, after a good, consistent start in which the team scored in four of the first five innings. Also, starter Joey Romansky did excellent work for the first three innings but then had to leave after the third inning to make it back to Sidwell for an important presentation for history class.

The team surrendered the lead in a big bottom of the 5th for Landon, and it appeared to get worse in the bottom of the sixth, when Landon managed to get runners on second and third with no outs. However, pitcher Adrian Vera struck out the next better and then drew a popup to short and a ground ball to second to work out of the jam.

In the bottom of the seventh, Landon had a runner on third with one out -- and their hitter drove a ball into medium center field. Justin Hurley positioned himself behind the ball, caught it, and threw a bullet to home plate. Unfortunately, Landon didn't try to tag up on the play -- and their next batter hit a sharp game-winning line drive to right center, making it obvious that not testing Hurley's arm was the correct decision.
