Although the Quakers led for three innings, Maret caught up in the later stages of the game and won a competitive game 7-3. Sidwell had a great first inning, with all batters seeing between 5-10 pitches per at-bat, and had the bases loaded with two outs when Tray Brown drove a high fastball off the wall in left field for a double and three RBIs. The Quakers unfortunately were only able to manage two more hits, and impatient approaches at the plate allowed the Maret starter to have several innings in which he threw ten or fewer pitches. Pitcher Chase Plebani threw well but allowed two home runs that put Maret in the lead for good. The Quakers will need to work on being more disciplined at the plate if they are to produce consistent offense and succeed against good pitching.
